NOC Enid erupted for 31 total runs in a doubleheader sweep of NOC Tonkawa on Thursday at Maverick Field, taking the opener 14–3 behind Connor Cavnar’s two homers, a triple, and six RBIs, with strong support from Cade Christensen, Noah Smith, and Jake Ervin, while Maddox Lawson earned the win in relief.
The Jets never trailed in the first game, jumping ahead 9–2 and scoring in four of five innings. Game 2 turned into a slugfest, with NOC Enid outlasting Tonkawa 17–14 as Brock Boddie doubled three times and scored three runs, Lucas Dunn drove in three, and Smith added four RBIs. Jackson Papenfus picked up the win with three innings of two‑run relief in a game that saw the Jets score in six of nine innings.
Now 22–9 overall and 2–4 in conference play, the Jets host Tonkawa again Saturday at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.
