NOC Enid Jets Smash Five Home Runs to Win NJCAA Region 2 Baseball Championship

The NOC Enid Jets powered their way to a 12-1 run-rule victory over Murray State on Sunday, clinching the NJCAA Region 2 Division 2 Baseball Championship in Enid. The Jets hit five home runs in the seven-inning game, with Connor Cavnar, Cade Christensen, Jacob Ervin, Noah Smith, and Tanner Fallwell all going deep. Cavnar led the offense with three hits and three RBIs, while Boddie, Christensen, Ervin, and Fallwell each added two hits. The Jets outhit the Aggies 15-2, scoring in six of the seven innings. On the mound, Jonathan Silva started and allowed one run over 3.1 innings, and Jackson Papenfus finished the last 3.2 innings without giving up a hit, earning his third save of the year.

With the win, the Jets (42-21) advance to the NJCAA West District Tournament on May 14-16, where they will face South Mountain Community College, the Region 1 winner. The best-of-three series will determine who moves on to the NJCAA Division 2 World Series, set for May 23-30 in Enid. Coach Ryan Bay praised his team for coming together and playing at their best when it mattered most but reminded them that their work is not done as a big series awaits.
