The NWOSU baseball team defeated Oklahoma Panhandle State on Tuesday, March 17, in a 21-11 win, moving the Rangers to 14-15 this season.
After tying the game in the second and taking the lead in the third, the Rangers piled on eight runs in that inning alone, highlighted by Cole Barton’s three‑run homer. The Aggies kept chipping away, pulling within two in the fourth and again scoring in later innings, but Northwestern answered each push with big swings, including a two‑run shot from Chase Gordon and a string of late doubles to put the game out of reach.
Gordon finished with four hits, while he and Jason McCarty each drove in four runs as the Rangers’ lineup powered them to the decisive win.
The Rangers will play the University of Arkansas-Monticello at Myers Stadium on March 20 at 3 p.m.
