The Oklahoma State Cowboys were eliminated in the Big 12 Championship game by UCF losing 77-62 ending the Cowboy’s season. It was a disappointing year for Oklahoma State that saw them start the year losing their 1st 2 of 3 to St. Bonaventure and Abilene Christian. It didn’t get any easier after that for the Cowboys as they went an abysmal 4-14 in Big 12 play taking 13th in the league out of 14 teams.

Coach Boynton spoke about the season saying “Obviously, 12-20 isn’t good enough, and I’m not shying away from that,”. It remains to be seen if the Cowboys will give another chance to Coach Boynton after the disappointing season.

The Big 12 is consistently the toughest conference in the nation and might be even tougher next year with the additional of powerhouse Arizona. If the Cowboys want to compete in the new-look Big 12 they may need a new head man.
