St. Johns River State Head Baseball Coach Ross Jones Talks World Series
St. Johns Rivers State is back in the NJCAA Division 2 World Series. Last year the Vikings suffered 2 heartbreaking walk-off losses to the eventual champs Heartland. Head Coach Ross Jones spoke about his team’s return to the tournament and how they struck up a friendship with Heartland after last year’s games.
The Vikings won the South District and went 38-23 on the season earning themselves the 5 seed. They will be taking on the 12-seed Westchester at 1:00 pm on Saturday. Leading the way at the plate for the Vikings is Nathan Gagnon hitting .369 with 36 RBI’s. While on the mound Danny Lozaro has a 3.97 ERA.
