In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Todd Stingley to talk about the new Enid Minor League Baseball Team.

The coach shared his excitement on the return of minor league baseball to Enid:

“It’s pretty exciting because Enid had baseball back in the day. I think they were called the Enid Oilers. It was a minor league club here in Enid. Bringing some baseball back to Enid above that high school level is awesome for me. I’m honored because Enid is a baseball town. Before I moved to Enid, I remember hearing stories about Enid being a baseball town. I was excited when we moved up here, my wife and I. This is a great opportunity, I think, not just for this ball club, but for the city. I hope the city takes advantage of it and runs with it. It’s awesome to see the city has a pretty proud history with the sport of baseball.”

Coach Stingley shared how this league gives college platers a second chance at baseball:

“A lot of these guys, this is their second chance at baseball. This is their chance to get back into the game and play again. They’re excited about it…hopefully, good things will come out of this for all of these guys. I’m excited about them. We just signed a guy yesterday from Dallas, Texas. He was a former D1 player as well. He’s looking forward to [getting] back into the game.”
