CTB Sports Director Derek Darr interviewed Covington-Douglas Head Football Coach Brian Smith about the upcoming matchup against Medford.
The coach began by discussing what to expect from the Medford Cardinals:
“They’re a very talented team, both offensively and defensively. A lot of athletes, very good offensive and defensive lines. [The] linebacker core is very solid on the defensive side. Skilled kids give you a lot of problems in space, a lot of problems when they run at the middle as well, so it’s going to be a challenge on both sides of the football.”
Coach Smith shared what has led the Wildcats to success this year so far:
“[A] tremendous amount of work ethic. I think these guys, they come every day to practice, to work hard, and get better. They’ve been preparing themselves for big games all year long, and their whole career, and this is another one that’s going to be a tough game start to finish.”
