UCO has done it again winning their 2nd straight Division 2 NCAA Wrestling Championship! Central Oklahoma was dominant clinching the team title before the individual championships began. UCO also had 2 individual National Champions, with Shawn Streck winning the Championship at heavyweight for the 2nd straight year after defeating the number 1 seed.
While Gabe Johnson was victorious at 157 lbs defeating the defending champ.
UCO Head Wrestling Coach Todd Staley spoke about the win saying “Our fans have been incredible, our guys have been incredible and our administration did an amazing job setting everything up. I’m really, really proud of our program and proud of our team and our community and our fans. It’s been an amazing weekend.”
The state of Oklahoma continues it’s dominance in the sport of wrestling.
