Oklahoma State Department of Health has announced that they are beginning the transition to what they say is now the endemic phase of the pandemic. Endemic is when a disease is still present but is limited to a particular reason of spread and is more predictable.

Earlier this week the Oklahoma Department of Health ceased monitoring the daily case count and is transitioning to a weekly case update. The new weekly report will contain the 7 day average of new cases and a 3 day average of hospitalizations.

The OSDH believes that a weekly report will more accurately reflect the current impact of COVID-19 in Oklahoma.
