Early this morning a hay bale fire in Lahoma took out 105 bales of hay. Garfield County Emergency Management said that the landowner was able to pull 10 bales out to save the rest. The Lahoma Volunteer Fire Department was responding to and putting out the fire early in the morning.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and the Lahoma Fire Department will be releasing a report on the fire later this afternoon. However Garfield County Emergency Management did urge citizens to “keep your eyes peeled for suspicious activity”.

UPDATE: The fire occurred 1.5 miles north of Lahoma, was on the west side of the road and may have been set intentionally. The fire is the second suspicious fire within a mile of each other.
