A personal injury collision in Kingfisher has resulted in the driver of the wrecked vehicle being sent to the hospital.

Edward Francis Dean III, 54, was headed northbound on US-81 at approximately 1:50 a.m. on Tuesday morning in a 2015 Kenworth commercial truck before departing the roadway to the right for an unknown reason. Dean attempted to steer back onto the road, but this caused the truck to roll twice before coming to rest.

Dean was transported from the scene of the accident by Kingfisher EMS to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where he was admitted in stable condition with head injuries.

OHP reported the weather during the incident as being rainy, causing the roadways to be wet.

The cause of the accident, Dean’s condition at the time and whether or not he was wearing his seatbelt are all still under investigation.
