An injury collision occurred in the early morning hours on Thursday on South County Rd. 215 and East County Rd. 53, one mile north of Mutual in Woodward County.

Charles Steinbarger, 49, was driving his 2007 Dodge Caravan northbound on South County Rd. 215 with three passengers inside: 20-year-old Logan Moore, 19-year-old Andrew Townsend and an unnamed 16-year-old male.

At approximately 1:36 a.m., Steinbarger’s Caravan failed to steer correctly into a curve due to foggy conditions and the wet roadway. The Caravan then ran of the road and came to rest on an embankment.

Steinbarger was reported as having no injuries while the three passengers were admitted to hospitals in the area. Moore and the unnamed male were sent to Woodward Hospital for further evaluation while Townsend was transported to Bass Hospital in Enid in stable condition with a leg injury.

The report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol stated that Steinbarger’s condition was “apparently normal” at the time of the incident. Additionally, Steinbarger was the only person in the vehicle wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
