Medford Man Injured in One-Vehicle Accident

(Enid, OK) A Medford man was hospitalized after leaving the roadway and striking a bridge embankment in Grant County Sunday morning, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

27-year-old Kent Kretchmar was transported to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center by Miller EMS and was admitted in stable condition with leg injuries, according to at the OHP.

Kretchmar was driving a 2012 Honda Civic southbound on County Road 960, at 4:55 a.m. Sunday morning when the vehicle left the road to the right, struck a guardrail, traveled left and struck another guardrail and then left the road, striking the embankment in a ditch, via the report.

The Medford Fire Department extricated Kretchmar after he was pinned in the vehicle, according to OHP. The condition of driver was listed on the report as “sleepy” and the cause was “inattention,” via the report.

Seat belts were equipped but not in use, according to the OHP.
