Two-Car Collision in Canadian County Leads to Fatality

A two-car crash in Canadian County on Tuesday morning has led to one fatality.

The crash occurred at the intersection of 248th St. and N. Fort Reno Rd. Dereck Goodmanson, 25, was driving in his Chevrolet Silverado heading south on N. Fort Reno Rd. and failed to stop at the stop sign. He was then struck by the oncoming vehicle at the driver’s side door. Goodmanson’s vehicle departed the roadway south and rolled 3/4 times before coming to rest on the driver’s side.

Goodmanson was transported by Kingfisher Fire and EMS to Kingfisher Mercy Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 12:14 p.m. due to full-body injuries.

The driver of the oncoming vehicle was transported to the same location and was treated & released for minor injuries.

The crash was investigated by Trooper Adam Post #407 of the Kingfisher County detachment of Troop J. and assisted by Trooper Mark Williams #814, Trooper Jeff Steelman #949, Trooper Jason Waits #414, Okarche Police Department, Okarche Fire Department, Kingfisher County Sheriff’s office, and Kingfisher Fire/EMS.
