Plainsmen Comeback Bid Falls Short in 9-8 Loss to Piedmont

On a cold day where temperatures hovered around 38 degrees the Enid Plainsmen’s comeback bid against Piedmont fell short as Enid lost 9-8 at David Allen Memorial Ballpark. Due to 5 errors and several stranded runners on offense, the Plainsmen trailed 9-4 at the start of the bottom of the 7th inning.

However, the Plainsmen roared back with the game on the line scoring 4 runs and having the leading run on 3rd with 2 outs. However, a hard-hit ball to the Piedmont 1st baseman ended the game.

The Plainsmen fell to 9-7 on the season and 3-2 in district play. Enid is now sitting in 4th place in district 6A-4. Whaetley Chaloupek was incredible going 3 of 3 getting on base 5 times.
