It’s a big week for former Oklahoma State QB Mason Rudolph. Rudolph who began the season as the Pittsburgh Steelers 3rd stringer is now pegged to be the starting QB for the Steelers game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Rudolph is getting the nod due to starter Kenny Pickett suffering an ankle injury and backup QB Mitchell Trubisky playing poorly. Fans were clamoring for Rudolph to start ahead of Trubisky ever since Pickett went down with an injury.
It’s been a rough career for Rudolph who was once seen as the successor to legendary Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger but was sidelined in favor of Pickett and Trubisky. But now with the Steelers playoff hopes in jeopardy, the storied franchise has turned to the former Cowboy for answers.
If Rudolph can turn around an anemic Steelers offense and get playmakers George Pickens and Dionte Johnson who have each complained about a lack of involvement in the offense more involved. Many fans will push for Rudolph to take over as the starting QB just in time for the playoffs.
