In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Hennessey Head Coach Mark Cox to discuss the matchup against Cashion.
The coach began by sharing what has led to the team’s success this year:
“Our guys have just picked up their level in all phases of the game, and we’ve taken care of the ball better than we did the first couple of games, and we’ve had guys step up and make plays on both sides of the ball, and just our guys have been working hard in practice and getting better every day, so that’s been a big part of it.”
Coach Cox discussed what to expect from the Cashion Tigers:
“They’re always going to be extremely well coached. Coach Shackleford, their head coach, he’s really good at scheming up the ball and creating opportunities for his playmakers offensively, and Coach Wood, their defensive coordinator, always has a really good game plan defensively. So yeah, I mean, they’re going to have their kids well coached up; their kids are physical, they play tough, hard-nosed football teams. We’re definitely expecting them to be ready to play on Friday night.”
