CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Former Garber CTB Sports All-Star Ashlan Light to discuss her taking the Drummond Head Girls Basketball Job.
Light began by discussing how returning to Drummond feels right at home:
“It is so exciting, about to graduate [from] college. I didn’t know where I would end up, where I was being called to go. And honestly, interviewing other places…When I got in there at Drummond, it felt like it was where I was supposed to be. I’m glad to be headed closer to home again. And it’s honestly crazy that it’s even in the same area…So it’s an awesome opportunity, and I’m grateful to have it.”
Light gave some background in the preparation to become a coach:
“I started all four years of fourth class A school smaller, but we had a lot of good girls, and we were determined to work our butts off so that we could do whatever came our way, whatever was thrown at us. We always wanted to represent not only ourselves, but [also] our Community at Garber. And that’s a huge thing.”
