In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Fairview Head Baseball Coach Scott Baugh to discuss his induction into the Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
Coach Baugh began by expressing his gratitude for receiving the honor:
“It’s been really overwhelming, humbling, really thankful for this honor. It’s hard to describe how wonderful it is; it makes you feel like you’ve done something right in your career. So just, very, very happy to receive this honor.”
Baugh shared some history of his coaching career, including his time as an assistant coach at Hennessey:
“I remember going to the state tournament when I was an assistant coach at Midwest City in the 90s and the players that we had back when Midwest City was a juggernaut. It was a lot of fun to be a part of those teams. When I got to Enid, it took us a while, but we finally got to the state tournament in 05. In my last five years at Enid, we went to the state tournament four times with 2009, which was kind of crazy…[I] got the opportunity in between stops at Enid and Alva to be an assistant coach at Hennessey with my son, who ended up playing there. We made it to the state tournament at Hennessey his senior year….”
