Northwestern Oklahoma State football’s second-half comeback fell just short Saturday afternoon, as the Rangers lost to Southern Arkansas 30-27 in Magnolia.

The Rangers trailed 28-7 in the second quarter before Ezequiel Luna scored a touchdown on a run. A blocked extra point returned by Southern Arkansas made it 30-13 at halftime. Northwestern rallied in the second half behind quarterback Jacob T. Jones, who threw two more touchdown passes, including one to Brody Williams that cut the deficit to 30-27.

The Ranger defense made a fourth-and-goal stop with a minute remaining, but Northwestern couldn’t complete the comeback.
