In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with the Timberlake Head Softball Coach Garrett Powell to discuss fall softball.
The coach began by sharing how practices have gone:
“It went really well. I have a team of nine returning players, and I’m adding nine new ones, eight freshmen and a sophomore transfer. We spent the summer just trying to mix and match and mesh different combinations and see how versatile we are. It’s been really fun.”
Coach Powell discussed the upcoming matchup against Pioneer:
“Just a team that’s going to play hard. They’re going to do everything right. They’re not going to beat themselves. Coach Risen, one of my friends; we’ve been friends for 25 years, and there’s not a better coach than he. He’ll have those girls doing the right things in the right places. We’re going to have to put ourselves in a position to also be flawless and execute to win that game.”
