In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Medford Head Football Coach Blake Lamle to discuss the upcoming game against Covington-Douglas.
The coach began by sharing what to expect from the Wildcats:
“They’re a physical team. Coach Smith does a great job offensively as far as moving formations around and getting his athletes in space. They do a really good job…”
Coach Lamle discussed the importance of becoming a district champion:
“It’s huge; you always want to be a district champion. You get an opportunity to host two rounds in the playoffs if you can win the first one. So, being a district champion is always the goal at the beginning of the year.”
Coach continued about how to slow down the Wildcats’ offense:
“They put you in kind of compromised situations. They try to have a lot of eye candy for you to look at, things of that nature. Just have to be really solid in what we do and not bump around a whole lot of defenses and things. Just have our eyes where they need to be and play fast.”
